Content
The IALS Library subscription covers over 1,000 titles, covering UK, EU, foreign, comparative and international law. Titles available through IALS subscription are displayed on the Elgaronline landing page when you click the link from the catalogue record. Each title is also listed on the IALS Library Catalogue.

Searching and browsing
To view only content that IALS library has subscribed to, use the link provided on the library catalogue record for Elgaronline. This link automatically applies the ‘all accessible content’ filter, which will only display content that is included in IALS library's subscription. You can apply additional filters using the ‘Refine by’ options on the menu on the left-hand side of the screen, such as subject and content type.

If you wish to search within the IALS subscribed content, use the search bar ‘Search within results’ to the top-left of the screen.

If you use the ‘Browse’ or ‘Search’ options from the menu along the top of the screen, all content will be displayed not just the titles subscribed to by IALS library. Any accessible content will be labelled as either ‘full access’ or ‘open access’ (with green/orange unlocked padlock icons). Any content that IALS does not subscribe to and therefore is not accessible will be labelled as ‘restricted access’ (with a red closed padlock icon). The ‘all accessible content’ filter can be reapplied using the menu on the left side of the screen to see just content included in IALS library's subscription.

There is an advanced search function, however this will search through all content and not just IALS subscribed content. The advanced search function supports the use of Boolean connectors (AND/OR/NOT). It can also be used to search specific fields, such as Title or Author, and/or to set a date restriction. The ‘Add row’ option inserts a Boolean AND connecto which can be changed to OR/NOT if required.
