Access
Onsite access is available to all academic members of IALS Library.

Offsite access is available to IALS staff, fellows and students; SAS staff, fellows and students; and University of London law staff and postgraduate students.

Content
The home page provides tax dossiers and updates. Other material is available on the Search tab, as listed below:

• News (updated throughout the day)
   
• Tables: a global collection of tax tables
   
• Country Tax Guides 
   
• Treaties and Models: treaties and model treaties covering tax and related topics
   
• Global Topics:  Global Tax Treaty Commentaries and Commentary on EU Direct Tax
   
• Primary Sources: thousands of official documents from the EU, the OECD, national governments and other authorities
   
• Case Law: decisions of the Court of Justice of the EU and national courts
   
• Books:  hundreds of tax titles, including the IFA Cahiers series.
   
• Journal Articles and Opinion Pieces: full access to Asia-Pacific Tax Bulletin, Bulletin for International Taxation, European Taxation, International VAT Monitor, World Tax Journal; and partial access to Finance and Capital Markets (formerly Derivatives and Financial Instruments), International Transfer Pricing Journal. [To select a journal, use the ‘Collection Title’ filter.]

Browsing
On the Search tab, use the filters on the left to browse all content by jurisdiction, region, international organisation or topic.

Alternatively, select a type of material (e.g. Books) from the centre of the Search tab, then use the filters.

Searching
Simple free-text searching is available from the Search tab. You can use Boolean connectors (AND, OR, NOT), and quotation marks for phrase searching. 

There is no advanced search option, but there are options to filter search results by type of material (see top of results list) and/or by jurisdiction and other criteria (see left-hand side of results list).

Other Features
When you select a Country Tax Guide or a tax table, it is added to the Documents menu.  Select two or more of these items from the Documents menu and click on the Compare button to display them next to each other.

For more information about the Compare function, click on the Help button.

Reading and downloading 
Content can be read online in HTML format. 

Documents can be downloaded using the ‘Export’ at the top of the results list. The available formats for download depends on the type of document but include accessible PDF and Excel.

Help 
Help is available in the top right-hand corner of the IBFD platform.
