Description

Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals (IFLP) indexes articles and book reviews published in law journals around the world. It is part of HeinOnline.

More Information

IFLP was originally published by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and is now produced by The American Association of Law Libraries at the University of California, Berkeley.

Access
IFLP is available on site to all library users.

Remote access is available to IALS and SAS staff, fellows and students, University of London law staff and University of London postgraduate law students.

Content
IFLP indexes articles from more than 800 law journals, from all around the world. It gives links to full-text articles in other modules of HeinOnline, where available.

IFLP covers foreign, comparative and international law, but includes relatively little on the law of common law jurisdictions such as the US and UK. (For an index to US law journals, see Index to Legal Periodicals and Books; for an index to UK law journals, see the Journals section of Westlaw UK.)

The main part of IFLP goes back to 1984. A digitised version of the print edition, covering 1960-1983, is also available (see ‘Search Print Edition').

Browsing and searching
Buttons at the top of the page allow users to browse by subject, country, region, or publication title.

The articles indexed by IFLP are in many different languages, but English terms can be used to search across all languages, because each article has been given English-language subject headings.

IFLP's default search page offers searches by keyword, author and/or article title; other options, such as Subject/Country Heading, are available via drop-down menus. Searches can be limited by date.

Help
Tips for searching are given at the bottom of the IFLP page.

There is a general HeinOnline Help menu at the top of the page.
