More Information

Access
International Criminal Law (ICL) is available onsite and offsite to all academic members of IALS Library.

After opening the database, click on ‘Browse all content on ICL’. Alternatively, select ‘Browse All’ at the top of the screen and choose the ICC module from the options on the left.

Content
International Criminal Law (ICL) covers all significant decisions by the International Criminal Court, the Special Court for Sierra Leone, the International Criminal Tribunals for Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia, and the post-World War II military tribunals (including those held under Control Council Law No 10). Some of the reports include analysis of the decision.

Searching and browsing
Once you have selected the International Criminal Law module (see above), enter your search terms in the ‘Search within results’ box on the left.

The Search and Advanced Search options at the top of the screen do not allow users to specify a particular module, but the Advanced Search facility may be used to search the whole ORIL service by jurisdiction, subject and/or other criteria.

After selecting the International Criminal Law module, users can browse by jurisdiction, subject, state party and/or date.

Reading and downloading
Content on ORIL, including the ICL module, can be read online in HTML format. An accessible PDF copy of the content can also be read and downloaded by selecting the ‘Download PDF’ icon. There are also options here to print, email and save.

Help
Help and FAQs are available via a link at the top of the screen. The information provided applies to the entire ORIL service, not just to the International Criminal Law module.
