Oxford Scholarly Authorities on International Law (OSAIL) is an online collection of books on international law all published by Oxford University Press.
Access
OSAIL is available onsite and offsite to all academic members of IALS Library.
**Please note, there may be some temporary disruption to remote access to e-resources from 13th August 2025 as we migrate to a new library system. We are working to reinstate remote access as soon as possible.**
Content
The OSAIL collection comprises more than 160 treatises and reference works, including leading titles such as Oppenheim’s International Law.
Searching and browsing
Basic and advanced search facilities are available. Advanced Search allows users to select one or more collections, whereas the default (basic) search bar searches all of the collections. Use Advanced Search to search by author/contributor, book title, chapter heading and/or other criteria. Search results can be filtered by subject, author or date.
The collection can be browsed by subject or author.
Reading and downloading
Content on OSAIL can be read online in HTML format. An accessible PDF copy of the content can also be read and downloaded by selecting the ‘Download PDF’ icon. There are also options here to print, email and save.
