Databases: Databases for foreign law

An introduction to IALS Library's electronic resources.

Databases

Need more help with foreign law research?

IALS librarians have written research guides covering about forty foreign jurisdictions.

The subscription resources mentioned on this tab can be found on the IALS Law Databases page (except Staudinger, which is accessed via the Library Catalogue).

The list of resources below is not exhaustive - other foreign law titles may be available on various databases.

TIPS

Most foreign law e-resources are not covered by Encore Full Text Discovery. For example, Encore does not find content from Beck Online, Le Doctrinal, Lexis 360, Lexis+, Sabinet, SCC Online or Westlaw International Materials.

To access foreign law material on Lexis+® UK, select the International tab.

To access foreign content on Westlaw, select Westlaw International Materials from the IALS Law Databases page. Westlaw's US material is separate from other jurisdictions, via a link on the right-hand side of the International Materials landing page.
